UNCERTAINTY AND INFORMATION: EMERGENCE OF VAST NEW TERRITORIES

Lezione introduttiva di / Opening lecture by George J. Klir

Castel Ivano (Trento)

Giov. 7 (10:00 registrazioni, inizio 14:00) - Sab. 9 (chiusura 18:00) Ottobre 2004

Castel Ivano (Trento)

October Th. 7 (10:00AM registrations, 2:00PM open) - Sat. 9 (end 6:00PM), 2004

Emergence of a multiplicity of behaviors in complex systems is a crucial topic in modern science. It relates to many scientific issues like complexity, the role of the observer, collective behaviors, the concept of transformation (like in phase transitions), dynamic usage of  models, uncertainty principles, issues related to cognitive science and to consciousness, to social systems in economics, ethics, education, and many others listed in the topics of the conference. The conference then focuses on “Systemics of emergence” in complex systems, based on tools and approaches introduced in different disciplines, different from the original one based on devices, archetypes, holism, and methodologies.
